Madagascar was an independent kingdom until French colonization in the late 1800’s. Almost half of the Malagasy profess to be Christian and roughly 70 percent live on less than $1 per day. Lack of biblically trained leaders and structured teaching have allowed many of the Malagasy old beliefs and traditions to be incorporated into the Church. Yet, churches are growing, especially in charismatic and Pentecostal denominations.
Pray for the Omega 2 Project partner teams labouring in the Archipelagos – the Islands of Comoros, Mayotte and Madagascar. Pray for their protection and great open doors of ministry for them amongst the Islamic people they seek to reach.
Pray for more labourers especially intercessors and short term missioners to encourage their groups on the ground in Madagascar.
Pray the Lord of the Harvest to thrust out well-trained Christian workers willing to serve in isolated areas with difficult living conditions.
