There is no known Christian witness among the unreached peoples group called Pinjaras in Tamil Nadu India – The Pinjara name means, “cotton weaver.” Their traditional occupation is cleaning and reeling cotton to make pillows, quilts, and mattresses. Many Pinjara have small and medium sized farms and live in multi-caste villages. Others manage small shops. They occupy both skilled and unskilled occupations. Less than one percent of them are reported to be literate. Their primary language is Urdu though others speak Hindi or Arabic.
There is very little outreach ministry activity focused on the Pinjara people, and there is a severe lack of Christian workers for this sizeable group.
Pray that the one true and living God will send harvest laborers with broken hearts to the Pinjara people.
Pray that harvest labourers will do whatever it takes to reach the Pinjaras.
Pray the Pinjaras will see their desperate need for the Savior.
Pray for oral gospel materials to reach this community.
Ask for the success of the Sunday School Retreat which runs through today and tomorrow at the AHE.
