Training of leaders remains a major challenge in Chad. Poverty, instability, violence, poor communication and lack of both financial wherewithal and management hinder training of pastors and evangelists. The Bible Training Centre (CFBP/RE) focuses on developing lay leaders and those who lack the education or time for formal theological training. Full-time biblical studies are a huge commitment when finances are miniscule and encouragement from local churches is low.
Give thanks that the tragic upheaval in Darfur has brought many into contact with the gospel that otherwise may never have heard.
Give thanks that their persecution by other Muslims (such as the janjawid militias) has disillusioned many with Islam and has made some open to the loving ministry and witness of Christians.
Pray for their Theological and Bible Schools and several Christian Assemblies (ACT) schools to produces the lacking leadership training.
Pray also that resources would abound for the training.
