Omega Project 2 News to our Partners – January 2022

Dear Faithful Reader & Partner,

The year 2022 for the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria is “Our Year of Supernatural Miracles”. We welcome you to this year of the miraculous power of God. The theme for the year is from 2 Kings 3:17-20 and Luke 3:5-6.

“17 For this is what the Lord says: You will see neither wind nor rain, yet this valley will be filled with water, and you, your cattle and your other animals will drink. 18 This is an easy thing in the eyes of the Lord; he will also deliver Moab into your hands. 19 You will overthrow every fortified city and every major town. You will cut down every good tree, stop up all the springs, and ruin every good field with stones.” 20 The next morning, about the time for offering the sacrifice, there it was—water flowing from the direction of Edom! And the land was filled with water.” 2 Kings 3:17-20.
“5 Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth; 6 And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.” Luke 3:5,6

Dear Friends, in 2022, expect miracles in your life. This year, everything you touch shall be turned into a miracle. You will experience the supernatural power of God at work in your life. However, you need courage to experience the supernatural miracles God has prepared for you. Deuteronomy 31:6-7 tells us to “6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. 7 And Moses called unto Joshua and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, be strong and of a good courage: for thou must go with this people unto the land which the Lord hath sworn unto their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it.”

Ezra reinforces the need for Courage when the Prophet admonishes us to “arise, for this matter is your responsibility. We also are with you. Be of good courage and do it.” Ezra 10:4. You must be courageous this year. You need courage to do all that God wants you to do. Remember it took courage for David to overcome Goliath when all the valiant men of war were shivering in fear.

Brethren, for you to experience supernatural miracles, you need to be intentional. You must be deliberate about the things that will happen around you. Jabez created the future he wanted when he prayed for God to bless him and enlarge his territory. You must create the future you want by being intentional and deliberate about it. In 2022, You must be intentional in knowing God and in aligning your will with Him. You must be deliberate in serving and obeying God. Job 36:11 says, “If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.”

You must be faith-driven if you are to experience supernatural miracles. This year, your experience will be according to your faith. Faith is the currency that answers in heaven for without faith it is impossible to please Him (Hebrews 11:6). Faith is the legal tender of heaven. If you are going to receive anything from God in 2022, it must be received by faith.

In Foursquare Gospel Church Asokoro, we used January to prepare God’s people for the great things God is set to do. We trust God that, all our faithful partners will experience supernatural miracles in their lives and ministries. Dear, partners, God is a rewarder of them who diligently seek him. He has never failed, and He will not fail you this year. It is our prayer that as you continue to partner with us and support the work of Omega Project 2, God will visit you with supernatural miracles in Jesus’ name.

Maranatha!

“It’s good work you’re doing, helping these travellers on their way, hospitality worthy of God himself! They set out under the banner of the Name, and get no help from unbelievers. So, they deserve any support we can give them. In providing meals and a bed, we become their companions in spreading the Truth.”

MISSIONARY REPORT FROM SOUTH SUDAN

Greetings in the Name of Jesus Christ!

We need not stress the fact that the last year was challenging, on account of the ongoing Covid19 pandemic and its related issues. With our hopes set on the Lord, we ventured to engage this years’ thrust boldly, assured of God’s unfailing help.

As has been our strategy since 2017 when Hope Primary School was started, we’ve continued to connect with and support the Ocea Rhino camp community through the school.

God is helping us to provide the little we can for their meal and making provisions for different families of the community. We are assisting them to meet their needs in the dormitory while discussing together the word of God. We are trusting the Lord to reveal himself more to them from adults to the next generation. To the glory of God, all is fine and God remains faithful.

Here, in few pictures are proof of the manifold mercies that kept us in the place of gratitude to the Lord of the Harvest.

The Uche Izuora’s.

MISSIONARY REPORT FROM INDONESIA

Calvary greetings from Palu, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia,

In 2018, massive disasters hit Palu, Central Sulawesi. Thousands died and thousands of others were buried alive and missing. During the recovery, we went in to spread the good news. Many people were opened to the Gospel. We had about 60 groups studying the Gospel. And all these people come from majority belief. As time went by, the group study began to decline. One by one-stop they study.

There were even people in the groups that trapped our field workers. Twice our field workers almost got killed. It was God’s grace that keep them alive. Though things were getting harder, we never give up. We continued to plow the field. We continued to disciple and to find persons of peace.

Finally, after more than 3 years, we baptised people from among those who were affected by the disasters. We could not hold back our tears when the baptisms happened. We see God’s faithfulness and that He will complete His works.

Please pray for these people who were recently baptized that they will be agents of blessing to their people and communities

MIRACLES FROM HOUSE TO HOUSE
3 months ago Rahmad (not the real name) got into a motorcycle accident. Some of HIS bones were fractured badly. Since then he needed his wife’s support if he wanted to clean himself when he went to the toilet. The doctor said it will take at least one year for him to be able to walk again.

A few weeks ago Rahmad’s mother accepted Isa Al-Masih in her life. She came to know Isa and got discipled through her friend who is also a new believer in Isa. Then she prayed for miracles for Rachmad. Miraculously within a few days Rachmad got healed and is able to walk. Besides that Rachmad’s mother also testified that she had an abundance of rice harvest when she harvested a few days ago. She said she also ask Isa Almasih to bless her rice field after she accepted Isa Almasih into her life.

Please pray for Rachmad and his family who are studying the truth. And pray for Rachmad’s mother so she continue to share the good news to her relatives and friends

Unreached of Day
Vanniyan in India

Vanniyan in India

Does your ancestry include royalty? The Vanniyan believe theirs does. They claim to be descendants of medieval Pallava kings who ruled South India. Today, Vanniyan are the most politically mobilized and well-informed caste in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Their main language is Tamil. Most Vanniyan engage in agriculture and animal husbandry for a living. Educated Vanniyan are politicians, engineers, administrators, scientists and university professors.

Ministry Obstacles
The Vanniyan are part of the Kshatriya caste, the second highest caste grouping in Hinduism. They are proud of their Hindu religious heritage. Pride can keep people from coming to the Savior.

Outreach Ideas
Higher caste background believers in South India can build relationships with the Vanniyan and tell them about Jesus Christ.

Scripture Focus
“And they stood up in their place and read from the Book of the Law of the LORD their God for a quarter of the day; for another quarter of it they made confession and worshiped the LORD their God.” Nehemiah 9:3

Scripture Prayer
Pray that hearing the word will lead to deep repentance.

Prayer Focus

Pray that the small number of Vanniyan believers would be able to find each other and become part of growing churches. Ask the Lord to enable Indian believers to share Christ with the Vanniyans and help them establish a strong church among them. Ask the Holy Spirit to soften their hearts of the Vanniyan towards Jesus so that they will be more receptive to following him.

  • The truth to be made known about the fate of Leah Sharibu, Grace Taku, and Alice Ngada as well as other workers captured by Boko Haram and “Herdsmen” terrorists (John 8:32).

  • All Christian captives held by jihadist and terrorist groups in Nigeria to be surrounded by angels and upheld in their faith as they become witnesses living or executed for our Lord Jesus Christ among their captors (Philippians 1:12-13).

  • The supernatural intervention by our Holy God to release Leah and remaining captives from their demonically motivated captors (Acts 16:24-26).

  • Nigeria’s President Buhari and Nigerian military to be supernaturally moved to action on the part of these captives of Islamic terrorist groups. May their locations be found, and may the government & the military (without knowing what they do, actively intervene on their behalf (Mark 4:22) to set them free.

Questions & Answers

Nearly every day, Moussa makes the 30-minute journey from his home in town to the garden plot. He’s not the only one. Men from the surrounding villages make the trek as well. The field is situated between five villages and has fruit trees, a well and vegetables depending on the season. Some men go to the garden for work when the season calls for it; some go to collect water, but most go for the conversation. The plot has become a gathering place for men to sit and talk with one another, and the most popular topic: religion. “Before, it was very difficult to share the gospel among a group of non-believers. But now in the garden project, we share the gospel openly,” Moussa said.

Islam is the most common religion in their North African country, but as Moussa explained: “People in the villages inherited it. They grew up in a Muslim family, but they didn’t really study Islam for themselves.” During discussions, references are made to both the Qur’an and Bible, surprising people at what each book said.

Each day whoever is at the garden eats a meal together and shares multiple cups of tea as they talk. Sometimes those gathered number around five, while other days, more than 20 attend. In the two years since Moussa began going to the garden plot, 20 men have become Jesus followers. The impact goes beyond the garden. As the new believers seek Jesus and how to be more like Him, their lives are radically changed.

Lessons from Job

For years after the death of three of his children to sickness, Omar believed that God did not love him. He was unhappy and avoided going home to see his remaining four children—three of whom were still sick. Through going to the garden plot, Omar learned about Jesus and heard other stories from the Bible. The testimony of Job encouraged him as he could identify with Job’s loss. “He lost everything, but he kept being faithful to God and God blessed him even more,” said Omar. As Omar learned more about Jesus’ love, he began spending time with his children, praying for them, and trusting God with their futures.

‘Jesus died for my sins’

Adam learned about the garden from his cousin, who owns a nearby farm and suggested he look there for work. Moussa hired Adam and a few others to make bricks to build a wall. Adam quickly noticed that the work environment was completely different than he had experienced elsewhere. “At the garden, all the people were friendly and respectful, and they treated us like their own family,” said Adam. “That really touched me, and I felt like there is something different in these people in the way they treat and love people.” Adam began asking Moussa questions about what he believed, and Moussa shared about the love Christ has for the world and gave him an audio Bible. At night, Adam listened to Scripture and the following day asked Moussa questions about what he had heard. “He explained it to me until I came to total conviction that Christianity is the religion of God and Jesus died for my sins!” shared Adam.

Moussa welcomes discussions with others, taking time to explain his answers and address people’s questions. He once had questions too.

Seeking the truth

It was 1998 and doubt tormented Moussa. Having grown up in a Muslim family, Moussa prayed five times a day, studied the Qur’an, and celebrated the different holidays. Yet the more Moussa learned, the more he doubted. “Every day that I sought [the truth], I got more confused,” he remembered.

One day, a friend invited Moussa to play a game with two other locals and a foreigner. After the game ended, Moussa asked the friend to walk home with him, but the friend was reluctant and made an excuse. After some questioning, Moussa found out that his friend usually stayed after the game to talk with the foreigner about religion but did not want his Muslim friends to know. Once Moussa knew what the discussion topic was, he was also invited to stay. He quickly agreed, thinking it was an excellent opportunity to win the foreigner over to his way of thinking. The foreigner was a Jesus follower and gave Moussa a Bible and invited him to read it, which he did.

“It was very different,” recalled Moussa. “The Qur’an, when you read, you don’t understand. But the Bible when you read it, you don’t even need someone to explain what it is saying.”

Moussa continued to read the Bible, and when the Jesus follower asked him if he believed in Christ as his Savior, Moussa “wanted to say ‘no’ but the word ‘yes’ came out.” As he read and learned more, Moussa prayed for his doubts to be taken away from him regarding the true religion. After one month of prayer, “I felt free in my heart that Islam was not the truth,” said Moussa.

Giving his life to Christ was not without its challenges. In his culture, if a person chooses to give up Islam, all aspects of their life is impacted—they may be cut off from their family, fired from their job, be beaten, or face other consequences.

Another Jesus follower once asked Moussa if sickness was killing all the people in his town and he had the cure, would he give it to them or let them die? Moussa quickly answered that he would provide the remedy for everyone. The believer explained that Jesus is the cure for the world. The conversation challenged Moussa to begin sharing his faith in Christ with others as the Holy Spirit leads.

As for his own family, they “don’t want to believe that I’m a Christian, but they know. Because if they accept that I am a Christian, they must cut all our relations and they don’t want to do that,” explained Moussa. “I will win them to Christ one by one.”
