Omega Project 2 News to our Partners – May 2021

Dear Faithful Reader & Partner,

May 2021 served us a vital reminder of what we have in Christ Jesus, and at the Assembly of His Excellency, that we themed the month as Our month of Amazing Grace from John 1:16 (KJV)

And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

From verse 14, the Word made flesh is firstly described as full of grace and truth, This announces to us that fresh grace replaces grace received and will do so perpetually, no matter the situation or circumstance.
Our salvation in Jesus, therefore, is here redefined in terms of all sufficient and inexhaustible Grace.  Col. 1:19 and 2:9 assure us further that “…it pleased the Father that in him (Jesus) should all fulness dwell;” “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”
God’s grace is so available to us that we better see it just like a man who goes to the sea and fetches a bucket of water.  No matter how many times he goes, can the man finish the sea by his drawing with his little bucket?  Can he ever finish the sea?  In the month of May, in our very challenging times, especially for us in Nigeria, and in families, our Redeemer, our Reminder, our Mediator, and Wonderful Counselor would like us to remember He remains God’s grace no matter our circumstances.  God’s Grace is available and inexhaustible!  Hallelujah!

The month of May was also our Family month, and the Lord’s message of the availability of His inexhaustible grace to us was prefaced, illustrated and amplified from God’s testimony of the children of Jonadab – the Rechabites, who for generations stuck to the instructions of their human father Jonadab.  Obedience and faithfulness magnified as our watchword for victorious conduct at these times.

12 And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying: 13 “Thus says the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, go and say to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem: ‘Will you not take instruction to listen to my words’—an oracle of the Lord. 14 The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab have been kept, who commanded his sons not to drink wine, and they have not drunk (wine) unto this day, because they obeyed the commandment of their ancestors; yet I have spoken to you persistently, and you do not listen to me. 15 And I sent you all my servants, the prophets, persistently, saying, ‘Turn now, each from his wicked way, and amend your ways, and do not go after other gods to serve them, and you will dwell in the land which I gave to you and to your fathers’; but you did not incline your ears, and you did not listen to me16 For the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have kept the command of their ancestors which he gave them, but this people have not obeyed me.
17 “Therefore, thus says the Lord, the God of Hosts, the God of Israel, ‘Behold, I am bringing against Judah and against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every evil which I have spoken against them; because I spoke to them and they did not listen, and I called to them and they did not respond.’ ” 18 But to the house of the Rechabites Jeremiah said, “Thus says the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, ‘Because youc obeyed the command of Jonadab your ancestor, and you have kept all his commands, and you have done all that he commanded you’; 19 Therefore, thus says the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, ‘there will never be lacking a descendant for Jonadab standing before me all the days.”

In our various examination of this text during the month of May, our family month, we rediscovered that God desires us to deliberately teach our children.  These children were born for a time like this.  It is not pity that God expects of us for the children, but to raise them to become a generation that will be able to stand for God no matter the circumstances.  In addition to the Rechabites, we relived God’s testimonies of Abraham, Daniel, the three Hebrew children etc., etc. through many inhouse assisting ministers.

Our special Guest speaker for Mother’s Day, Pastor Mrs Jumoke Adenowo unfolded what we contemporarily term the “mother’s legacy” as exemplified in Timothy’s upbringing in Paul’s 2nd letter to Timothy 1:1-7, and counseled we need a paradigm shift because far from being a mother’s role, Lois and Eunice performed the Biblical role of fathers to Timothy.  We must take a cue from God’s testimony of Jonadab.
Lois and Eunice played that role for Timothy merely owing to the spiritual absence of their husbands – they were Greek gentile.  They did not know God, hence Lois and Eunice stepped into the normal role God expects fathers to play in the family – to provide and teach.
Woman was created in the companionship role of “ezer” (Gen. 2:18), a strong Hebrew word meaning, a strategic help for the man.  Not just any help, but that, without which the man cannot accomplish God’s purpose for his life.  God himself is ”Eben ezer” the Rescuer.  The true legacy of a woman is placed beside the man, as “ezer” to rescue man whenever necessary, not to depend on him.

Nevertheless, as was the case for Lois and Eunice, there are situations that make for woman to be also a father.  Situations of current realities, where the wife pays the rent, the school fees etc.  We must recognize these as we celebrate Mothers who are fathers too.  However, these situations require obedient and faithful scriptural management regardless.

Our guest speaker pointed us to what she called God’s archetypal prototypes to us in Abraham and Sarah “look unto Abraham your father and to Sarah (that) bare you” in Isaiah 51:2.  Look at God’s testimony of Abraham in Gen 18:19 – “For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.”  Then to, Deut. 6:7 – “And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.”
Let the men step up and play their God given role.

When I remember the Hymn writer, John Newton who wrote the hymn “Amazing Grace.” As he thought upon the words: “By the grace of God I am what I am,” he said, “I am not what I ought to be. How imperfect and deficient I am! I am not what I wish to be. Though I am not what I ought to be, I can truly say that I am not what I once was—a slave to sin and Satan. I can heartily say with Paul: “By the grace of God I am what I am”!”
Let the “ezers” also step up and balance the role in the family and in the church of God.  There is inexhaustible and perpetual GRACE available!

Maranatha!

“It’s good work you’re doing, helping these travellers on their way, hospitality worthy of God himself! They set out under the banner of the Name, and get no help from unbelievers. So, they deserve any support we can give them. In providing meals and a bed, we become their companions in spreading the Truth.”

MISSIONARY REPORTS FOR MAY 2021

REPORT FROM Returnees from the GAMBIA

Beloved,
Thank you for the support and for upholding our family in prayers. We are gradually settling down here in Nigeria and taking much time to rest.

EASTER ONLINE OUTREACH
We carried out an online outreach during Easter {targeting 54 Africa countries plus India}, showing Jesus Triumphal Entry and Crucifixion in Animation. We reached 553,881 people and had 53,809 engagements in 5days. We have more people to follow up and those to be praying for.

ONLINE TRANSLATOR

Your prayers and support allow us to create media, proclaim the Good news and Empower Jesus followers around the world. Our online Media Platforms now reached 68 countries. We created an advert requesting for volunteers. Their role is to Translate Bible stories into their local languages which will make our work easier and faster in reaching many tribes. We received 13 applications from Ethiopia, Egypt, Kenya, and Nigeria. We are still trusting God for more translators.

WE ARE PREPARING FOR THE ARAB WORLD

The Lord gave me the vision to reach Friends in Arabic countries 11years back. We sense the Lord telling us it is now time to move. We are trusting God to relocate to Egypt after we finish our furlough. We still have to renew our Passports, stamp at Egyptian Embassy, link/connect with a Ministry/Church from Egypt. Continue to pray for us as we are resting and preparing for this next face.

Thank you for your prayers and part in what God has done and will yet do.

Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. AmenFrom “A” Family

REPORT FROM INDONESIA
How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news… Isaiah 52:7One of our teams in Sulawesi searched for a man of peace through whom they can share the word of God. In a village, they happened to pass a house but then they saw a man standing in front of his door. They then turned their motorcycle and went to that house.  The team leader then said to the man, “it is a hot day. Can we just stop at your hut for a while?”  The man welcomed them.  After a short conversation, the team then started to tell Bible stories.

The next day the team came again to share other Bible stories. On that day the man told the team, “Before you appeared I prayed to God, there will be people who will share stories about God to me. My religious leaders have come many times but they never told me these stories. When I heard motorcycles pass my house, my heart said this is the people who will tell the story about the true God.”

In less than a week, the man gave himself to Jesus and got baptized.

Please continue to pray we will find people who are hungry for God. And pray there will be more people who are seeking the true God.

A Bridge Ministry

We have a ministry to help the blind and other handicapped. We call it bridging because it is a social ministry that connects us to bring more people to come to know Jesus. Some people have come to know Jesus through this ministry.

Recently this ministry helped a handicapped young man who got paralyzed because of an accident. He lost his hope when he can no longer move his body. The love of Christ helped us to help him to get his confidence back.

Next year we will open more centers for this bridging ministry all over Indonesia. We want to train the blind, mute, deaf and other disabled with computer, music and other skills. Besides we want also to share the Gospel as we train.

Please pray for the human resources that we need and pray for the strategy to share the Gospel through this bridging ministry.

Fruit of perseverance

About 1 1/2 months ago we met this family and shared the Gospel with them. However, they rejected our visitation.

About 1 week ago we came again and brought a watermelon. We went to show kindness to this family. When we arrived the husband was massaging his left part of his body with his right hand. Later we found out that he had a light stroke.

We then offered to pray in the name of Isa. After we prayed, he told us that he felt something came into his body. Then he can move his left part of the body. Later he told us that we must have something in our lives. Then we said, yes we have Isa Almasih (Jesus) with us. He wants to heal you but more than that Isa wants to connect with you.  The husband and the wife then got interested to learn about Isa. Yesterday we learned together from the Bible.

Please pray for this family (Lawutu is the husband’s nickname) so they will receive Jesus in their lives and will become evangelists to their own people

Seed that Grows

Sometimes 2 years ago our team shared the Gospel to a “cousin” young man who was addicted to drugs. Our team member who happened to be an ex-drug user then shared his story of how he got out of addiction. How Jesus helped him out from the deep well. Somehow their connection doesn’t continue. And our team have to move to a new location since the owner of the house doubled the cost of the house that they rent.

However, a few days ago they met again. That young man has been looking for our team member since they moved. When they met that young man shared his story. He keeps remembering the testimony and that encouraged him to get away from drugs. But then he continued, I want to know your Jesus.

For the rest of the story, they study the Bible together now.

Friends, please pray for all the seeds that have been sowed. May it continue to grow in the people’s heart.

Answered Prayer

About 10 years ago (2011) I prayed that Indonesians will become a blessing for other nations. In 2012-2015 there was an influx of immigrants from Iran, Afghan, Pakistan, etc going to Australia and made Indonesia their transit nation.  Around 2014 Australia closed their borders and many immigrants got stuck here in Indonesia.  And the Lord told me, you don’t need to go, they are here in your nation

2013 was the beginning of my ministry to the immigrants. Many Iranians come to know the Lord in 2013-2016. In those years we had an average of 60 people attending Sunday service.  We also have Bible studies for them. However none from other countries. Back in 2014-2015 there were some Afghans who study the Bible but they do it secretly.  They were afraid of their communities. I remembered praying to the Lord interceding for the Afghans. So many more Afghans will come to know the Lord.

Today we started regular Sunday service again for the immigrants after this pandemic. About 30 people came. Out of 30, 2 are Iranians and the rest are Afghans. There are many more Afghans searching for the Lord at this moment.

Friends, never underestimate your intercession. We are called to stand between the gap for the unbelievers. May we continue to pray for the lost in our lives.

REPORT FROM NIGERIA

Report from CMF Ifon-Osun, Osun State

In the year 2012, when my secondment as a C.M.F Missionary to the All Soul Anglican Church Old Bodija Ibadan in Oyo State ended, Ifon-Osun in Orolu Local Government Area in Osun State became my next Missionary field. Since then whenever the Lord made it possible, toward the end of the year, I would take a trip to Ibadan City capital of Oyo State where our C.M.F. headquarters is located. This enables me to pay a visit to our Mission’s Spiritual Leader, who is also the International Director of C.M.F., Rev. Reuben Ezemadu as well as to the brethren at our C.M.F. National and International Offices.
On the other hand, it provides the opportunity for me to attend some end-of-the-year Revival programs of some churches in the town to replenish and build up my spiritual life.By the middle of September 2019, after my Soul-winning activities in Benin-City in Edo State, I finally traveled out of the City to Ibadan. This was after following up the souls won by the Lord to some extent and left them under the care of the Holy Spirit. Furthermore, during my period of secondment to the All Soul Anglican Church, I was deeply involved in church planting and Discipleship making. Through the help of the Spirit of God and working together with some Pastors and Brethren of the Church, chief among them was an Elder-Pa Olasupo Omisakin; five churches were planted at Ita-Ege, Isale-Ijebu, Shangisha, Idi-Igbaro, and Amuloko Areas of Ibadan Land.

Thus upon my arrival to Ibadan, after my visit to our International Director and C.M.F Brethren, like the Apostle Paul according to the Bible did, I made use of the opportunity of my being in Ibadan to visit two of the five churches in company of Pa.Olasupo Omisakin. They were the ones established in Shangisha area, where the All Soul Anglican church Bodija has a Rest Park and the one at Idi-Igbaro.

The Pastors and the old members of these local churches were very excited to see me again after many years. I could see some new faces among them.
When I was called upon by the Pastors to exhort their members, I used the opportunity to challenge them  in the area of Evangelism; for even though there were some new members among them, their number was greatly reduced compared with what it was years ago.

There was the need to rekindle in them the fire for soul winning. Respectively, at the end of the messages the brethren in both churches were uplifted spiritually. At the church in Shangisha, when I made an altar call for volunteers for Evangelism, two brothers came out to be prayed for. I was also led to pray for the sick brethren as well as the pregnant women among them.

The Pastor of the church at the Rest Park himself was also uplifted in the spirit and encouraged as the fire for Evangelism was revived in him. He promised to resume his Evangelistic outreaches again. He was part of our team during my Secondment to the Church. We all worked together at church planting and Discipling of souls for the All Souls Anglican Church Old Bodija, Ibadan.

As I mentioned earlier, one of my practices, whenever God makes it possible for me to be at Ibadan toward the end of the year, is to avail myself of the opportunity to attend some end-of-the-year Revival program to uplift and strengthen me spiritually. This time the ones I attended were the 4th year Anniversary and Revival program of my long-standing Missionary Partners based in Old Bodija – Rev and Pastor Mrs. David Oyetunji Oyelaja of the World Impact Apostolic Ministry International.
At the Bodija All Souls Anglican church under Venerable Babatunde Obaweya, the Vicar in charge, I also attended the Revival program of the famous Jesus Festival of the Anglican Communion which always holds in the month of November of every year before the Corona Virus Pandemic.

Furthermore between Dec. 2019 to January 2020. I participated in the revival programmes of the Foursquare Church Old Bodija under the Senior Pastor. Rev Dr. William Omotayo Akinlade. At the end of the programme in December, in January 2020 the church started a one month fast which lasted to the end of the month of January. I also participated with them for a corporate fasting.

The Lord used all the different revival programme of these local churches to revive and empower me spiritually. By February 2020, I returned to my mission’s base in Ifon-Osun in Osun State. And not long after in March 2020 began the first general two weeks Corona Virus Pandemic and subsequent lock downs in the Country.

My next Missionary Report is about my Missionary Activities during the Corona Virus Pandemic lock down which will be submitted by the end of May.
I thank God for His grace upon my life. I thank Him for all the Brethren and all the families and an individual whom He has been using to give me financial supports, and encourage me in my missionary work.

I pray the Lord will richly bless and reward all of us and our families in every way in this age and in that to come in Jesus Christ mighty name amen.
Once again thank you very much for all your different supports toward the fulfillment of my Missionary Calling. You know your selves and God knows us all. May all the glory honour and praise be ascribed unto the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit in Jesus Christ mighty name Amen.

Report from Navigator’s Okike & Irene Offiah

Rebuilding Broken & Shattered Lives

Amali is one of our Shaggy Rug Makers. She was taken captive by Boko Haram and held in a slave camp with her baby and another lady. Along with other villagers they were hiding in a cave up in the  mountains after their village was attacked but a barking dog blew their cover.

Three of them were taken as the others went deeper into the cave. By God’s help Amali escaped from the slave camp and ended in the IDP camp with her baby. Life in the IDP camp is subhuman, nothing is
guaranteed: shelter, food, clothes, clean water or access to health facility. Today Amali is rebuilding her life as she earns income from shaggy rugs. We have been working at the IDP camp since January this year. So far: © We have engaged 3 volunteer teachers at the camp primary school to improve the quality of teaching and overall education delivery. We have also secured scholarship for two girls into a private secondary school here in Abuja come September 2021. Thanks to GEANCO FOUNDATION.

© We have commenced monthly donation of essential drugs to the IDP clinic. Next month we plan to start regular clinics to be run by volunteer doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other qualified medical personnel.  © Two girls have been trained on beading for the fashion industry and they are gainfully employed. They have become bread winners for their families.  © Ten women have been trained to make Shaggy Rugs. Amali is one of them. This is a story of turning trash to cash and waste to wealth. It is a story of survivors, resilient women rebuilding their broken and shattered lives. Shaggy Rugs are made from tailoring and fashion design wastes and these women have mastered the skills and the art.

The Best part of the story is yet unfolding. The women have come to love and trust us. When we meet, we sing, we dance, we eat, we tell bible stories and draw out key lessons. We encourage each other. Sometimes we have cried together. There is a ray of hope at the end of the dark tunnel. Next week I will be meeting with the Shaggy Rug Makers and their husbands.
These are only possible because of your generosity. In the coming months, we will continue to count on you to partner with us as we work with these women and their families to rebuild their lives. We see them living wholesome lives and playing a part in the advance of God’s kingdom among their own people and beyond.

Thank you for being unrelenting in your prayers and support.

Baangi in Nigeria

The Baangi people have their own language, but like many ethnic groups in northern Nigeria, they also speak Hausa, the language of the dominant people in that part of the world.

Ministry Obstacles
Workers will find the area somewhat inaccessible during the rainy season and living conditions are primitive.

Outreach Ideas
Nigerian followers of Christ from other tribes can reach the Baangi tribe with the good news. The Lela and the Dakakari live close by and they already have a Christian presence.

Scripture Focus
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”  Psalm 139:13-14

Scripture Prayer
Pray that this people group will understand and embrace that they are created by God, and that His ways are marvelous!

Prayer Focus
As far as we know, there is not a single follower of Christ among the Baangi tribe. Pray for the Lord to raise up workers from among the Lela and the Dakakari tribes to reach out to these Muslims. Pray that workers would not stop until there is a powerful movement to Christ that would bless them spiritually and socially. Pray for workers to find “persons of peace” who will give them the opportunity to speak into this people group. Pray the Baangi tribe would be given a growing spiritual desire to find truth that will not be satisfied with anything less. Pray for peace in northern Nigeria.

CHRISTIAN PERSECUTION IN TUNISIA STILL RAMPANT

A decade after the Tunisian Revolution, a new human rights report details the siege on religious freedom for Christians and other faith minorities in the Muslim-majority country, sharing cases in which followers of Jesus were harassed, dragged into the street, threatened, and arrested. The Attalaki Association for Liberty and Equality Committee on Religious Freedom (AALECRF) published the annual report on the freedom of religion and belief in Tunisia for 2020. The organization was founded in 2016 to call for dialogue between religions and make the voices of religious minorities heard. Its committee on religious freedom, established in 2019, monitors religious freedom abuses and documents the situation for religious minorities living in the north African country.

The new report shared that though it’s been over 10 years since the Tunisian Revolution, which led to the Arab Spring protests across the Middle East as well as began the process of Tunisian democracy, managing pluralism in Tunisia remains a challenge. The report shared that Tunisia’s 2014 Constitution is the first Arab country’s constitution to “explicitly enshrine freedom of conscience.” Yet, it makes Islam the religion of the state and stipulates the president must be Muslim. Religious minorities are also kept out of positions in the government and military.  Even though the Constitution of the Second Republic states that “the state is the guardian of religion” and “guarantees freedom of belief and conscience,” free exercise of religion in Tunisia for religious minorities is threatened by multiple factors.

Many Christians in Tunisia live out their faith in isolation for fear of backlash from family members or society and often struggle to find employment, the report finds. The report said despite the fact both religious and non-religious communities are citizens, many minorities feel as if they are second-class citizens excluded from some citizenship rights due to the lack of security. The researchers warn that the state often ignores religious freedom issues, and policy to protect the Christians, Jews, Baha’is, and other faith minorities is virtually non-existent. Additionally, the report states that hate speech against religious minorities is also prevalent. Instances of persecution present themselves in a variety of ways. Over the last year, there were multiple accounts of persecution against religious minorities.

According to the report, a Christian family living in the southern suburbs of the capital was victim to harassment and hate slogans from the community last March. One of the female family members was dragged into the street by her hair and punched in the face repeatedly as neighbours called her obscene names. After filing a complaint after the attack, the committee stated that police paid little attention to the issue until a medical charge was submitted to inspect the violence committed against her. The police then began to interrogate her about her religion, how she could obtain religious books and publications, what church she attends, and who she communicates with.  The Attalaki Association appointed a lawyer for the victim, who plans to submit a complaint to the public prosecutor due to the police station’s initial negligence.

The association also reported on the case of a Christian girl who was arrested and interrogated by police at the metro station in the capital for wearing a cross necklace. She was released to her mother less than two hours after her arrest. In August, a Christian pastor in southern Tunisia was said to have been threatened on Facebook to leave the country or be killed. He said he lives in a state of constant fear and has been harassed multiple times for being an “apostate” and “social threat in the eyes of the extremists.” In October, a woman in her 50’s was beaten by her brother for having religious beliefs outside of Islam. She filed a police complaint but was not listened to by authorities, the report claimed.

Since the COVID-19 quarantine protocol in Tunisia began on March 22, Attalaki Association “observed complete disregard by state institutions for the status of religious minorities.” Once restrictions were lifted, the Association of Freedom and Equality and the German think tank Konrad Adenauer Foundation held a discussion on the government’s inequality toward non-Islamic religions in handling the pandemic. Minority faith groups face a national identity crisis and the absence of a legal framework to protect their ability to exercise religion freely, the report continued. This leads to the promotion of hate speech and extremism. “The threats faced by non-Muslim Tunisians and Muslims from sectarian minorities in Tunisia are a product of the legal disregard for the status of these semi-marginalized minorities,” the report read.

At the end of the report, Attalacki Association offered recommendations to official state institutions concerning religious liberty. Open Doors USA, an international non-profit that spreads awareness of the persecution in over 60 countries, reports the average Christian in Tunisia experiences a very high level of persecution, especially for Christians from a Muslim background. There are roughly 23,000 Christians in the population of 11.9 million, with over 99% of the population practicing Islam. Most of the Muslims are adherents to Sunni Islam, according to World Watch Research (WWR), the research arm of Open Doors. Ranked No. 26 on the Open Doors 20201 World Watch List for Christian persecution, Tunisia is a hostile place for Christians due to intense Islamic oppression.
