Omega Project 2 News to our Partners – February 2021

Dear Faithful Reader & Partner,

Permit me to tell you the wonderful story of our month of February which was so profound, we themed it after “restoration unto abundance”, as it was for the Shunemite widow (2 Kings 8:1-6).
While her husband lived, she regularly welcomed, and eventually housed the prophet Elisha in his circuit of ministry.

At the word of the prophet, this woman did not only conceive after a near lifetime of barrenness, and give birth to a son, but also following her confidence in the prophethood of Elisha, had this son raised again to life after sickness and death.
At the word of the prophet Elisha, this noble but nameless Shunemite woman, who had so confidently announced to Elisha her self-sufficiency earlier in 4:13, sadly forsook all, her home and country to sojourn in the land of the Philistines for seven years because of a period of famine called by the Lord.

On the Shunemite’s miraculous return, the King was interrogating Gehazi on Elisha, and her entrance into the presence of the king, confirmed not only the testimony of Gehazi about Elisha, but also, that she followed the instructions of God’s Prophet.
All the loss she suffered by leaving her property, home and country, at the word of the Prophet, were restored from the first day she left, abundantly unto her.

The month of February therefore was to us, a reminder month, to take instructions from our leaders, and trusting God, to do what they asked us to do.  We agreed with the Holy Scriptures that it was not a mere coincidence that Gehazi was there when the Shunemite entered the presence of the King.
Like Elisha, we earnestly prayed by our Supernatural Helper, to see several years ahead of our followers for God-filled navigation towards the Champion of our Faith.

We asked for our Supernatural Helper to give us grace to listen to the instructions of our leaders and obey them.  Like the Shunemite, we asked our Comforter, to envision us to sow seeds that will harvest the souls of men into the kingdom, souls that will speak for us, not only here on earth but also on our sudden appearance in the presence of the KING of Kings!

I prayed same earnestly for you!

Maranatha!

“It’s good work you’re doing, helping these travellers on their way, hospitality worthy of God himself! They set out under the banner of the Name, and get no help from unbelievers. So, they deserve any support we can give them. In providing meals and a bed, we become their companions in spreading the Truth.”

MISSIONARY REPORTS FOR FEBRUARY 2021

REPORT FROM LEBANON

THANK YOU
As a family we want to thank you all for your love and continual support. Thank you for being a part of our lives and all what we are doing through your prayers, giving and encouragement.

In this strict lockdown and not being able to do much, we invited 5 young men. In normal days our staff do Bible studies with them. They all accepted to come and after days of quarantine and PCR tests, they were released to be part of our community. Joshua, my son, does daily Bible studies with them, other staff share testimonies and others cook.
We are having lots of fun and many ping pong games. This Monday Mohamad will be for the first time in his life in an Arabic worship meeting. As for A. he is about to be baptized. We are praying for the rest to give their lives to Jesus.
Despite the lockdown we were able to do our first family camp over the Christmas vacation. We had 3 families and a one young man. Apart from one family, all are from a different background.

Resources:
Suzie and I are doing the editing of the eBook on creative prayer stations in Arabic. We should be done In about 2 weeks.
The booklet on helping kids to be protected from sexual abuse is in the print shop. We have ordered 20,000 copies. We can’t wait to start giving it out.

Latest family photo in the wedding of our friends an co-workers Guillermo and Evie.

Suzie has been struggling with pain in her neck, head, back and her right arm. X-rays showed that her spine is messed up. Please pray with us for healing. She is going to a chiro-practor for treatment.

Joshua, in addition to ministry, continues working on his master’s degree. He is an amazing bible teacher and worshiper.

As for me, Jihad, my heart is burning to see young people being trained and having God’s heart for their generation and the next ones. I’m exercising and watching what I’m eating these days trying to get rid of 10 extra kilos I put on long ago.

LAST WORDS
Don’t lose the affection of your heart! “When you get more excited about what God is doing in and through you than about who He is to you, it’s a slippery slope to losing the affection of our heart”
Wherever you are in your walk with God, run and stay in the Father’s house. ‘and I will dwell in the house of the LORD as long as I live.” Ps. 23: 6 b
One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple. Ps: 27: 4
Blessed are those who dwell in your house, ever singing your praise! Ps 84: 4

We love to hear your news. God’s richest blessings on you, with much love,
the Nasrs

PHOTO REPORT FROM  INDONESIA

Our work among the animist

The Gospel is making its road to the remote areas.

Since 2007 we have made a commitment to start a church where the Gospel has not been presented yet. We have house church among the “cousins” and the “common” church among the animists in the remote areas.

Last year as the results of the Christmas celebrations in a few areas, we have several baptisms. Many who never heard the Gospel gave their lives to Jesus.  In one new area (kolonglau) the local government tried to stop us. However, after we explain the event, they allow us and more than 200 adults show up in that Christmas which for most of them that was their first time hearing the Gospel.

In another area (banda), the church grow and they need help for the roof of the church.  The church members and the coordinator already have the board from wood for the wall for the church.

It is always exciting to see people come to know the Lord and church established.

Please pray for workers for reaching out to the animists. The Lord keep opening the doors for us to start churches in animists areas however we are sort of workers.

This woman had an amazing vision and dream a few months ago. For 3 nights in a row, Jesus visited him. After that experience, she gave her life to Jesus.  A few weeks ago she reached out to her family. Recently she reported that she already baptized her in laws and her grandchildren. Earlier on, she baptized her other family (sisters, etc)

She asked us to pray and help since she is reaching out to a new area. She also asked us to pray for her husband who doesn’t believe yet.

Recently our team held a discipleship meeting with her. In that meeting she shared that the earth and all in it, belong to Jesus, and we must not love those things more than we love Jesus. In the past she also shared  about taking the cross as believers of Jesus.

Asri (not his real name) had an encounter with Jesus some years ago when he was praying in his old belief (M*slem). He is blind.  We disciple him long distance now.

Right now he is teaching computer and music in a special school (school for disabled) in his father’s hometown.

Besides teaching he is also reaching out to his students. Now he has 5 people studying the Word of God with him regularly. He also reaches out to his father. He already shared the Gospel with his father and his father is in the process of believing.

Besides that, he also reaches out to other blind persons by using his handphone.  He has also shared the Gospel with his brothers and friends, and they are in the process of accepting Jesus as well.

Please pray so people that have heard the Gospel through Asri will come to know and accept Jesus in their lives.

REPORT FROM KENYA

A summary from Carren’s report for January 2021:

At some point more than two weeks I had a mild headache which began with a severe headache, weak joints, and loss of appetite and tonsils for 2 days. But am well now and I thank God.  We are doing well (as a team) with sometimes few disagreements especially in our language learning.

We all celebrated my birthday and am glad for this team up here. I got four (new) friends near our home. Women who sell miraa (khat), and two men who run a water shop.  I was excited about celebrating my birthday in our
(language) teacher’s home.  I had planned to go to the stadium regularly to improve on my language learning, but I did it for two weeks and since I got sick, I have never gone back again.
1. I decided to rest,
2. They started charging entry fee into the stadium (which was an additional cost on my budget).
I have decided to take a break from sports. I will be moving to a new
house end of February.  Thank God for our current language teacher and her family, they have opened their home for us and they are so lovely. Our language teacher is expecting a baby anytime next week, trust God for a save delivery.
Am trusting God also that He will amply supply to me. I think am struggling with my support.

(Please, pray for Carren’s financial partners to be faithful in sending their support. A few made pledges but have not honored them. Others started giving but have defaulted – some for several months. Life in the Horn of Africa is expensive)

A summary from Gad’s report for January 2021:
It (January) has been well. Having a much consistent program and familiar with most places. I am well. I thank God I have not been ill. I am doing well especially since communication lines with teammates and team leaders are open especially with “A” (name withheld) here. (I am) Growing more in wisdom in dealing with people. I have met the believer I talked about (in my December 2020 report) and been occasionally talking on phone. We also have interesting conversations with our language helpers. I have grown much in my guitar playing with an accustomed mentor in music. As
housemates, we will be moving to a new and better house within the vicinity.
I thank God for the wonderful opportunities in sharing with our language helpers and them being open both in listening and inviting us to their place, it is like a family thing too.
Pray that I may gain more wisdom in dealing with local believers. Discipleship is no easy thing, but I trust by God’s grace I will walk with and encourage the guy I talked about. Drug abuse and sexual immorality are widely spread among the people here and affects believers. Seems they have been steeped in this like a culture.

(Clarification: Gad stays with two other Christian men. They share the monthly rent.  They will be moving to another suitable house before end of February 2021)

REPORT FROM THAILAND

by MELENDEZ RAMIREZ FREDY ELIAS

Living Word Missions

We thank God for his protection and provision and the open doors to continue sharing His word in Thailand, also through Zoom in countries such as Russia, Peru, Guatemala and El Salvador.

During these two months, we were reaching various communities with Christmas activities, as we continue sending educational packages for children in Thailand and Myramar.

We reached more than 300 children in the month of December through Christmas activities. And more than 150 adults.
The strategy we used also helped us during the second wave of Covid-19 bwtween the month of December- January.

OUR MINISTRY WORK
During this period, we have carried out the following activities:
– We held the first children’s camp with different churches, it was an activity where the children learned a lot and had a great time.
– During the month of December, we celebrated several Christmas activities where we managed to reach hundreds of children and adults in Thailand and Myranmar.
– At the end of December until the end of January, Thailand was closed due to a second wave of infections, but in the middle of the closure we continue to bring the Shakers packets to the children in the communities.

TESTIMONIES.
1- During December we carried out several Christmas activities, one of them we managed to gather more than 170 children, 150 adults and the local authorities where the Word of God was shared. The Lord in his mercy opened doors for us as we move from glory to glory.
2- Something that amazed us in December was that we had failed to raise funds for the children’s gifts, but then received a message from one of the International bodies wanting to help us with some gifts and other missionary friends supported us to buy more gifts. To the glory og God  more than
200 children received Christmas gifts and especially a book about the real reason for Christmas.

 prayer requests:
1- For protection and health.
2- For finances for the renewal payment of our Thai visa, we need to pay $ 1,100 used. of which
we have $ 400
3- For the opening of a new children’s club in March.

APPRECIATION
We are very grateful for the support you give us; it is a great blessing for us and it supports us to continue sharing the word of God in Asia.

OUR PROSPECTS ARE:
– Raise funds for the payment of our visa on the date of March 7, 2021.
– Finish the book on the prevention of child sexual abuse.
– Carry out face-to-face training in Thailand for children’s leaders and a series of trainings for
children’s leaders through zoom with child leaders from Peru.

Kurd, Turkish-speaking in Turkey

 HISTORY

In Turkey, Kurds have been labeled by the Turkish government as “Mountain Turks” in an attempt to view them as the same as the Turkish majority. One can sometimes tell the difference between a Turk and a Kurd by their facial features. In Turkey, the Kurds often speak their own language, Kurmanji. Though many identify with their Kurdish roots, others have become part of the mainstream of Turkish society and have even adopted the Turkish language in their homes. These are the Turkish speaking Kurds.

Ministry Obstacles
Kurds and Turks share Sunni Islam as their heart religion. It is part of their identity as a people. Added to that, Kurds have been betrayed by Western nations, leading many to not trust anyone with a Christian background.

Outreach Ideas
The use of Turkish cultural music and art forms would be an excellent way to begin to present Christ to members of this unreached people group. Pray for people to develop such evangelistic tools.

Scripture Focus
“The Lord rules over the floodwaters. The Lord reigns as king forever.”  Psalm 29:10

Scripture Prayer
Pray that many will understand that God is the undisputed King of kings, and beside Him there is no other.

Prayer Focus
Pray for a powerful Disciple Making Movement among Turkish speaking Kurds. Pray for spiritual openness to Jesus Christ, especially among elders.

BIDEN’S LGBT AGENDA

By Australian Prayer Network 14/02/2021 International Newsletter

Following his recent election President Joe Biden has made “sweeping promises” to LGBT activists to “carry out virtually every proposal” that LGBT activists have pushed for in recent years. According to Associated Press (AP) Biden’s agenda includes allowing individuals who identify as transgender to enlist in the military, as well as allow trans-identified servicemen to enter women’s-only areas (and vice versa), and cover the cost of trans-surgeries and cross-sex hormones for members of the military. He also plans to require all government contractors to not have LGBT discrimination policies, and will create LGBT rights positions at the State Department, National Security Agency, and other federal agencies.

According to Biden “The Equality Act is the best vehicle for ensuring equal rights under the law for LGBTQ+ Americans, and will guarantee that LGBTQ+ individuals are protected under existing civil rights laws.” The Equality Act, the passage of which Biden has vowed to make a “top legislative priority” during his first 100 days in office, has received criticism from conservatives over its implications for religious liberty. Meanwhile, many female athletes, including progressives, have expressed concern that the legislation will put biological female athletes at a disadvantage by allowing biological males who identify as female to compete in women’s sports. The Equality Act, which passed in the Democrat-controlled House last year, failed to become law after stalling in the Republican-controlled Senate.

Pending the passage of the Equality Act, Biden plans to take several executive actions such as rolling back “broad exemptions” to non-discrimination laws that he argues allow “businesses, medical providers, social service agencies, state and local government officials, and others to discriminate against LGBTQ+ people.” Among the things this plan would do is require medical staff to perform elective procedures on trans-identified individuals even if doing so goes against their religious beliefs. Biden has also vowed to ban “adoption and foster care agencies that discriminate against LGBTQ+ families” from receiving federal funds. Biden has also announced his intention to “work with civil rights leaders to develop implicit bias training programs for federal workers to address discrimination based on race, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or disability.”

A Biden administration would “direct the Department of Defence to allow transgender service members to serve openly, receive needed medical treatment, and be free from discrimination.” Additionally, Biden would work to “ensure all transgender individuals have access to identification documents that accurately reflect their gender identity” by giving individuals the option to change their gender marker to “M,” “F,” or “X” on government documents. Biden has also promised to restore Obama-era guidance that allows trans-identified students to use bathrooms, locker rooms and showers that correspond to their chosen gender identity as opposed to their biological gender. The Biden policy document also calls for a ban on “conversion therapy” and counselling for unwanted same-sex attraction.

Biden claims that “conversion therapy” is “deeply harmful, highly unscientific, and often leads to trauma.” Last month, a three-judge panel on the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that bans on SOCE therapy in Palm Beach County and Boca Raton, Florida, were unconstitutional. While the majority of Biden’s LGBT agenda focuses on domestic policy, the former vice president has also signalled a desire to make LGBT activism a centre-piece of his foreign policy, proposing a series of new positions in the executive branch dedicated to achieving this goal. Proposed positions include: “a point person for LGBTQ+ rights on the National Security Council, a “Special Envoy for the Human Rights of LGBTQ+ Persons at the Department of State,” and a “Special Coordinator in charge of international LGBTQ+ programming at USAID.”

  • All Christian captives held by jihadist and terrorist groups in Nigeria to be surrounded by angels and upheld in their faith as they become witnesses living or executed for our Lord Jesus Christ among their captors (Philippians 1:12-13).
  • The supernatural intervention by our Holy God to release Leah and remaining captives from their demonically motivated captors (Acts 16:24-26).
  • Nigeria’s President Buhari and Nigerian military to be supernaturally moved to action on the part of these captives of Islamic terrorist groups. May their locations be found, and may the government & the military (without knowing what they do, actively intervene on their behalf (Mark 4:22) to set them free.
