Egypt in Omega 2 Region of North Africa is arguably the intellectual centre of Sunni Islam, and Islamist groups such as “the Brotherhood” have grown greatly as they push for a more Islamic state. However, Scripture is more accessible than ever in Egypt, especially to young people, and Christians, and the Christian message have greater exposure in the media.
Give thanks to God for these sustained openness despite Islamic extremism.
Thank God for the highly strategic ministry of the Bible Society in Egypt and the large-scale Bible distribution and creative ways they have found to maintain a public presence for the Word.
Pray that Egyptian Muslim leaders, and citizens who are increasingly disillusioned with Islam will discover Jesus Christ, the Light of the World.
