Omega Project 2 News to our Partners – December 2021

Dear Faithful Reader & Partner,

The Month of December was set aside to reflect on God’s goodness and faithfulness. It was “our Month of Gratitude”. Psalm 124:1 says, “If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say”. Thanksgiving and gratitude provoke revelation from God. Brethren, the month of December was filled with revelations. In December, we discovered that when we give thanks and praise to God, the earth responds. The forces that govern the earth will respond and align to favour you when you show gratitude to God. Friends, our deepest form of worship is thanksgiving.

“Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.” – Psalm 67:5

In December, we took time to reflect on God’s revelation to us in 2021. We considered the many things God did for us from January to December. Be encouraged to count the blessing you received from God in 2021 and express your heart felt gratitude to Him. God will cause the earth to yield her increase for you as you do this. I pray you receive a release of God’s grace that will provoke gratitude in your heart.

Dearly beloved, recall how Paul and Silas were locked up and how God intervened and released them from captivity when they began to praise and Worship Him. God inhabits the praise of His people (Psalm 22:3). Your gratitude will bring you out of captivity into the promise God has for you. It is instrumental to note that when the people of Judah sang and praised God, He ambushed their enemies.

“And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten”. – 2 Chronicles 20:22

As you express your gratitude to God this season, He will defeat everyone and everything troubling you and give you peace. Brethren, it is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto the name of the Most High. Invariable, it is a bad thing not to give thanks to the Lord. Whatever we give thanks for increases in value and whatever we fail to give thanks for decreases in value. Remember, a grateful person tends to become great.

To express our gratitude to God, the Omega news for this Month include a session titled “Praise God” in the report of all the missionaries. We Praise God for the testimonies He gave us all through the year 2021 and encourage you to join us in praising and appreciating God for His mercies that endures forever. Your gratitude will usher into your life a miraculous year 2022.

Dear friends, our gratitude will not be complete if we fail to appreciate you for your continued support. Your giving and prayers ensured that in 2021 Omega Project 2 continued to reach out to missionaries in the frontier of world missions. We celebrate you and encourage you not to relent but rather increase your support for the good work of Omega Project 2.

“It’s good work you’re doing, helping these travellers on their way, hospitality worthy of God himself! They set out under the banner of the Name, and get no help from unbelievers. So, they deserve any support we can give them. In providing meals and a bed, we become their companions in spreading the Truth.”

MISSIONARY REPORT FROM AFGHANISTAN

Dear Brethren.

We have heard and read how the Taliban took over the government in Afghanistan. There is fear that Islamic law will be imposed as the Taliban take over. As time goes by it proves the Taliban has not changed. There are so many sad stories that we may read and hear from the country. However, God has a bigger plan. While it appears evil is winning, God is triumphing as many Afghans are beginning to seek God with all their hearts.

Today our immigrant ministry is celebrating Christmas. About 80 people showed up mostly are Afghans. Many of them have accepted Jesus in their lives. Some are still learning and others are new to Christianity. Some who already accepted Jesus, actively share Jesus with their friends and families. Christianity may seem to loosen grounds in the country of Afghans, but Jesus has won many Afghans hearts.

Praise God!
1. Praise God for all He is doing in Afghanistan.
2. Praise God for the many Afghans who are beginning to seek God.
3. Praise God for the Afghans who have become Christians.
4. Praise God for the Afghans who actively share their faith.

Please continue to pray so more Afghans and other immigrants hear the good news during this Christmas season.

I and my household are doing fine and for that, we are grateful and so thankful for God’s protection. We appreciate all the blessings and provisions throughout the reporting period. We sincerely appreciate Omega Project 2 and pray more of God’s blessings upon the commission.

The One Little Starfish Mission in Kisii Kenya is doing well, our objective and Goals remain intact, we are progressing at a slow pace! We request your prayers and support to expand God’s work on this site and beyond! We started a sewing training program for the widows and two are already enrolled, they are catching up with the skills so well and we are praying for more sewing machines to help us enroll more. By God’s grace, we recently launched a Chicken Coops Project for our Starfish kids, it needs more resources to help us realize the full prospects of the project, with your prayer and supports we will reach our goal. God bless you richly.

MISSIONARY REPORT FROM ABIDJAN, CÔTE D’IVOIRE

Calvary Greetings,

These months were devoted to the preparation of the lessons to be taught but also to the resumption of classes. In the church Sunday School department, I supervise the junior class, whose age is between 3 and 7 years old.

To the glory of God brother AB gave his life to God and became an active member to the point of teaching in the children class. I remain grateful to God for his faithfulness. Glory to God in the highest during evangelism and film screening, the Lord added ten converts to his Church.

GOOD NEWS CLUB
Regarding the BENI neighbourhood good news club: I worked with a sister from our Church, the teachings that we continue to bring to children are about the love of God through Jesus Christ. In the month of October we prayed for these children individually to learn more about their condition and to access the work we are doing with them. One of the teenagers I had prayed for in years past because of the blood disease (sickle cell disease) that she had, recently said most men of God have declared that she is going to die. But we are trust God for preservation of her life at the same doing follow-up with her.

The ANONO Good News Club
Tuesdays and Saturdays has been set aside to teach the teens and kids in the neighbourhood the love of Christ and the story of the Samaritan. Trying to disciple and encourage them, also advice them to go to school.

ACTIVITIES WITHIN LAMI
The ministry every year organizes a program of building and teaching for the body of Christ, this program is called ECOMIN (School of Ministry) which started for this year in June and ended in August. The theme “CHRIST IN YOU THE HOPE OF GOIRE” taken from the passage of Col 1: 27 was the theme treated by the Benjamins from 7 to 11 years old. Then for adolescents aged 16 to 20 the theme developed was “LIVING FOR GOD IN JESUS CHRIST” taken from the passage of ROM 6:11.

The last retreat was for adults, and the theme was “SHINE LIKE TORCHES IN THE WORLD” from the passage in Phil 2:15. God helping activities like; prayer section, teaching and discipleship including words of encouragement was carried out in the village of Anono. We had a number of 8 persons working with us. 2 couples, 4 housewives, 2 men, to the glory of God just got married.

I have had teaching meetings with AWA on creation, prayer, sin. We had times of prayer for the AC family, and times of reviewing the teaching on our “Christian Identity.” we spent some time with KOUASSI’s family for a tithing education.

Praise God!
1. Praise God for brother AB and for all the converts the Lord added to the Church

Unreached of Day
Gil Bedouin in Morocco

Morocco in Gil Bedouin

Gil Bedouins traditionally live a nomadic lifestyle. The word “Bedouin” comes from the Arab word “bedou,” meaning “desert dweller.” Nomadic Bedouins number about one-tenth of the population of the Middle East. Bedouin life is generally pastoral, raising camels, sheep, goats and cattle.
Ministry Obstacles
It is almost impossible to find Christians who are willing to live the lifestyle of nomadic people for the sake of the gospel. It will take hearty believers who can and will live among them for years, learn their language and share the gospel in a way that makes sense in their culture.

Outreach Ideas
Believers who are willing to live like Bedouins can share the JESUS Film and gospel recordings.

Scripture Focus
“Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.” Revelation 15:4

Scripture Prayer
Make this also your song of praise to the victorious King of kings!

Prayer Focus
Pray that believers who encounter Gil Bedouins would use opportunities to develop friendships with them and earn their respect to speak the truth of the gospel to them. Pray for courage and accurate communication. Pray they would see their desperate need for Jesus Christ, the only savior. Pray that Gil Bedouin children would be educated in technology to be participants in the modern world.

We will not forget to pray for Nigeria, for the Persecuted Church in Nigeria, for the Families of the Executed & Beheaded Martyrs, and also for LEAH, GRACE & ALICE & many victims of Terrorism in Nigeria.

  • The truth to be made known about the fate of Leah Sharibu, Grace Taku, and Alice Ngada as well as other workers captured by Boko Haram and “Herdsmen” terrorists (John 8:32).

  • All Christian captives held by jihadist and terrorist groups in Nigeria to be surrounded by angels and upheld in their faith as they become witnesses living or executed for our Lord Jesus Christ among their captors (Philippians 1:12-13).

  • The supernatural intervention by our Holy God to release Leah and remaining captives from their demonically motivated captors (Acts 16:24-26).

  • Nigeria’s President Buhari and Nigerian military to be supernaturally moved to action on the part of these captives of Islamic terrorist groups. May their locations be found, and may the government & the military (without knowing what they do, actively intervene on their behalf (Mark 4:22) to set them free.

GOD HAS BEEN WORKING THIS YEAR

Here are some encouragements from real student stories around the world and be refreshed in faith that God really is moving in the world’s universities.

Belgium

In May, we prayed for Sem and Ruth, staff workers for Ichtus Belgium in Vlaanderen, in the incredible story of their surprise collaboration with the city council to reach out to students in lockdown studying for exams. Ruth updates us below:

‘The week after this Prayerline was published the exam period started, and Sem and I once again went out to meet students. We had sent out a press note together with the city to call on the people of Kortrijk to write encouraging cards for the students. While society had opened up again, the students couldn’t enjoy it because they had to study. We had a mailbox placed in the public library and city hall, and people could drop their cards there and we would hand them out. In the end we had 250 cards, and for five weeks we took out the cargo bike to the dorms in Kortrijk. This time, other organisations gave us items to hand out in addition to the cards and our own flyers – coffee, provided by the city, and RedBull. We had markers from Teleblok, an organisation that helps students with studying, and flyers and bottles from Kzitermee, a mental health organisation for young people.

The students’ reaction when you handed them coffee, RedBull, bottles and markers was nice. But when we gave them a card from some anonymous person in Kortrijk who wanted to encourage them, they were thrilled. They were amazed that people cared about them. They were surprised that people took the time to write a card to them, and some even wanted to write a thank you card. Some cards had Biblical verses and encouragements on them. We don’t know what this did or still does in the lives of those students, but we prayed that those cards would end up with those who needed them most. We trust that God has answered our prayers, even though we will probably never know the outcome.

On our last round we saw Regis, a student we have talked to several times. When we told him it was our last round for the year he said ‘thank you for this initiative! It is such a small gesture, but it has meant very much to me’. We don’t know if he still lives in that dorm, but we hope to run into him again this year. We plan on going out again in the exam period in January, and while the Covid situation in Belgium is not good and I think another lockdown is around the corner, we will be out meeting the students where they are.

This year our Ichtus Vlaanderen team has read A Meal with Jesus. We don’t eat and drink with the students, but it is food and drink that brings us together. Regis’ parting words stuck with me. I realise that in the past year God has led us to students like Regis, and he doesn’t need big actions, big words, or big events. He can meet students through a simple cup of coffee.’

Ukraine

In June, we prayed for students from CCX Ukraine who experienced personal revival through meeting at a national camp to study the Bible. Sergiy Lebedev writes:

‘We had a couple of meetings after camp and almost all students who attended the camp wanted to study the Word deeper during the local meetings in Kharkiv, Kyiv, Odesa and Lviv. The internationals that were specifically touched by the content of the camp come to the English language clubs.’

Sergiy also shares the plans to continue this work in the New Year:

‘We plan to have another Mark camp at the end of January. It would be amazing if people could pray for the camp as we still lack funding – around 2000$. Please pray for this, and for restrictions not to be severe. We plan to have 150 people in one place, obviously with all of the precautions, but still there is fear that something might go wrong. Another point for prayer is that we will host a team from the US and we want everything to go smoothly with their arrival.’

Guam

In August, we heard about the amazing way God derailed staff worker Sam’s plans so that a pioneering work in Guam in the South Pacific could begin. David Walter, Regional Secretary for the South Pacific writes:

‘Guam has been one of the true highlights of IFES ministry in the South Pacific in 2021. There are now two weekly Bible studies reading John’s gospel. Two students (one who was in that first meeting of 3 students with Sam) lead a Bible study in the student dormitories which have students from across Micronesia. They regularly have 20 students attend. One of those students recently made the decision to follow Jesus, and many others are searching. Sam leads the local student Bible study (which is itself a multicultural group) which is going well. Most of the focus is on UoG (the University of Guam) but Sam is building connections with the community college (GCC – Guam Community College) and the other university on Guam (Pacific Islands University).

Sam is doing a great job connecting with pastors and other local people, helping everyone to catch the vision of how the ministry works and what God might do through it, and growing trust in the ministry and IFES. And recently, they launched Project Ambition, to encourage believers to take more initiative to speak to friends and contacts who don’t yet know about Jesus.’

From IFES Prayerline 21st December 2021
