“When some stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do
him wrong. You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the
native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were
strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God” (Lev 19:33-34,
NIV).
Sudan is a country that has gone through two civil wars and a war in
the bordering Darfur region. There have been millions of casualties
and many have had to flee. Most of the refugees have been hosted by
neighboring African nations. Significant numbers of refugee
Sudanese can be found in greater London, Brighton, and the West
Midlands. Some have come as unaccompanied children, and they
consist of both Muslims and Coptic Christians.
Pray that Sudanese refugees in the UK will find hope and
comfort in Jesus.
Pray that fleeing Sudanese will always find a place of refuge
for those who need protection and acceptance.
Pray that the Sudanese in the United Kingdom would develop
a hunger for the true God.
Pray that the few followers of Jesus among the Sudanese in
diaspora be energized by the Holy Spirit to witness to their
unsaved countrymen in Sudan.
Pray that the people of Sudan will find the Prince of Peace.
Pray for UK churches to be proactive in welcoming the
Sudanese.
Pray that those sharing the gospel with the Sudanese will see
much fruit, and that Sudanese will be discipled in the ways of
Jesus.
